The first step in our wedding planning was choosing the venue. We wanted something that captured our unique experience. Something that moved far from the traditional spectrum. My fiancee came across a post on OffBeat Bride talking about offbeat venues in Los Angeles. One of them was the Silent Movie Theater in LA run by the cinefamily. We went to see an old Charlie Chaplin film and fell in love with the venue. We will literally be married on the stage while our guests sit in theater chairs and eat popcorn. There is an outdoor patio where guests can dine, drink and interact. No stuffy assigned seating. The theater opens up into a dance floor. The outside of the venue will host our own personal marquee “D & K in “I do” complete with red carpet and because this is LA- Valet. We were happy with the venue as they worked within our budget and more importantly, they respected me as the groom doing most of the emailing and planning.
